AIS (Architecture In Schools)

Co-Founder, Teacher, AIS (Architecture In Schools) NEPA, Scranton, PA, (2014 - 2020). This program promoted collaboration with elementary schools and volunteers to teach children about architecture through classroom visits and hands-on experiences. Efforts were with professional volunteers and design students to introduce fundamental aspects of the built environment to children.

This program was a designed collaboration with elementary schools and professional design volunteers to teach children about architecture through classroom visits and hands-on experiences. It was awarded a heritage grant for the program as well as funding from our local AIA chapter. The program and corresponding research resulted in academic publications and was implemented in over 20 classrooms and after-school programs under my six years of oversight and continues to run today.
